Advancing Justice for the Young: Strengthening Multidisciplinary Forensic Practice

About the Convention

The International Convention of Forensic Medicine and Sciences (ICFMS 2026) will be held from 29–31 July 2026 at the Sheraton Kuching Hotel, Sarawak, Malaysia, organized by the Department of Forensic Medicine, Sarawak General Hospital, in collaboration with the Malaysian Society of Forensic Medicine & Science (MASFORMS) and the Kelab Kakitangan Perubatan Forensik Hospital Sibu.

This three-day international convention, preceded by hands-on pre-convention workshops, will bring together delegates from across the region and beyond, offering keynote lectures, plenary sessions, scientific tracks, industry exhibitions, and accredited CPD opportunities. With a special focus on paediatric aspects across disciplines, ICFMS 2026 will explore the unique challenges and advancements in paediatric forensic pathology, clinical forensics, imaging, anthropology, odontology, and scientific investigations involving children. The convention will also feature insights from the Department of Social Welfare, the Deputy Public Prosecutor (Attorney General’s Chambers), and the Royal Malaysia Police (D11 – Sexual, Women and Child Investigation Division), highlighting inter-agency collaboration in addressing paediatric cases.

Against the backdrop of evolving forensic technologies, globalization of crime, and complex medicolegal challenges, ICFMS 2026 provides a vital platform to enhance capacity building, promote standardization of medicolegal practices, and advance child protection and medico-legal death investigation systems in the region.
